The Client

Kingston Technology is a leading global manufacturer of memory and storage solutions. They supply top tier data centers, cloud providers and PC manufacturers as well as companies developing the next trends in smart devices.

Kingston wanted to modernize their overall business systems on a world-wide basis and take advantage of the latest technology available.

The Challenge

Kingston had been on JD Edwards World software for nearly 20 years. They had over 1,000 customizations of the software. The main areas of focus for upgrading to JD Edwards E1 were for:

  • More timely information regarding inventory, sales & purchase orders
  • Better and more timely information for analytics & decision making
  • Quicker time to close accounting books
  • Less time to process transactions & audit all equals saving dollar
  • Real time inventory & ability to provide available to promise information within sales

Our Solution

Terillium guided Kingston to map and develop new processes, custom applications, and data from World to JD Edwards E1. This project was extremely complex due to the many unique processes that are used at Kingston’s many world-wide locations. Additionally, the Covid epidemic closed offices and impeded travel to and from these locations.

Kingston now has a state of the art system with fewer custom modifications. They are a better supplier to their customers and a better overall service to customers, suppliers, and to their employees.

Terillium’s approach of discovering and adapting our processes to business best practices and E1 software was the key to the success of this project. We relied heavily on the expertise of Terillium consultants to guide us in the process. We now have a modernized system utilizing the latest technology. The Project Manager was instrumental in guiding us to adopt the Workstream model. This process-oriented approach led our teams to achieve more and focus on key areas of our business. The Workstream approach was the key to the success of this project.
