What You Need to Know About 2016 Year-End Processing with Oracle JD Edwards
From Terillium Managed Services Team
With 2017 almost upon us, it’s time to start thinking about year-end processing. We are anticipating there will be some challenges in the U.S. and Canada with year-end statutory reporting, especially on the HR/Payroll side and the Affordable Care Act requirements.
As most of you know Oracle will produce ESU’s (Electronic Software Update) that provide changes to the applications and reports that produce 1099’s and W-2’s in the US and T5018’s and T4’s in Canada. The updates are typically available in mid-November for the payroll (W-2’s and T4’s) and mid-December for accounts payable (1099’s and T5018’s). Oracle has provided Information Centers that provide a wealth of information including links to Advisor Webcast videos (when available) and other documentation to make your process as painless as possible. An Oracle log-in is needed to access the following:
It is our recommendation that you plan to have the ESU’s in production by late December or early January to allow time if adjustments need to be made. We are also strongly recommending that customers use the ‘blank sheet’ rather than the ‘pre-printed’ forms approach to avoid costly development work to align the data on the form for a specific printer.
