The Client
When Harrington Hoists, Inc. needed to find an ERP for KITO Americas companies, HHI selected Oracle JD Edwards as the product of choice and Terillium as the partner to ensure the implementation was successful. Harrington Hoists, Inc. (HHI) is a subsidiary of Japanese-owned KITO Corporation, and is a leading manufacturer and distributor of electric chain, wire rope, air powered, lever, and manual hand chain hoists, as well as trolleys, cranes, and replacement parts.
Harrington Hoists, Inc. products can be found in factories, warehouses, shipyards, wind turbines, and even theaters and museums across the globe. With headquarters in Manheim, PA and Corona, CA, HHI is the anchor company in the KITO Americas organization. Harrington Hoists, Inc. was operating with a dated release of EPICOR, used by a sole employee with plans to retire. All of the organizations within HHI and KITO were on different platforms, making the need for a single program much more significant.
The Challenge
Tasked with a pressing timeline and a large scope, Terillium helped HHI implement Oracle JD Edwards E1 9.2, and also created a custom dashboard and new data model for KITO enterprise. Terillium facilitated conversations and communication between KITO Corporation Japan and HHI (and other KITO Americas organizations), and introduced the Harrington Hoists team to Terillium partners for additional solutions.
Our Solution
By ensuring comfort on all sides of the project, Terillium and HHI finished this project on time and with excellent results. Not only did Terillium help HHI go live, but they also assisted in completely changing the costing methodology for the organization and created an enterprise-wide dashboard to deliver the visions of the parent company and its subsidiaries.
Automated processing and the improved order entry interface is anticipated to decrease HHI’s customer service workload by 40%. Significant benefits for HHI also include transparency and dialogue between departments, and visibility and access to cost structure strategies because of Oracle JD Edwards E1 9.2 reporting tools.
CFO Mark Snavely commented: “We were seeking out a partner for our JDE implementation and that is exactly what we got with Terillium. The team took the time to understand the nuances of our business and how we derive value from our business before proposing solutions. They took into account that our business was not static during the one year implementation period and also put our goals in front of the entire team during the life of the project so that the Terillium team and our internal team knew and understood how “success” would be defined. The Terillium team understood our internal control structure and approval processes and worked to satisfy the complicated compliance hurdles we needed to achieve in conjunction with our go live. We did a great deal of research in finding our partner and can’t say enough good things about the work the Terillium folks did and the value they added to our project and our company as a result.”
