The Client
The Conti Group is a facilities and infrastructure development firm delivering complex engineering and construction projects across the United States and internationally. Founded in 1906 with headquarters in Edison, New Jersey, Conti operates in the energy, environmental, industrial and infrastructure markets for public and private customers. They needed to:
- Upgrade technology that was at the end of its life cycle
- Streamline and simplify a system that was running with more than 4,000 modifications
- Select a partner with the staff, upgrade experience and proven ability to successfully execute an upgrade on an extremely aggressive schedule
The Challenge
Conti’s vision, led by CIO, Cullin Wible, was to update their technology to support growth and create a single source of truth for the business, while keeping alive their reputation of successfully completing every project they’ve ever started. Their journey to upgraded technology and better functionality was led by Terillium’s JD Edwards experts with experience helping construction businesses reduce costs, and in just 115 days the Conti group was able to:
- Reduce custom objects by 75% from 4,000 to 1,000
- Transition from 115 security groups to 30 security roles
- Go from 4,200 to 650 menu items – an 85% reduction
- Moved from an IBM to an Oracle platform
Our Solution
The Conti Group’s upgrade to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 was completed on time, under budget, and its delivery resulted in a round of applause for their CIO on go-live day. As a result , Conti is now enjoying:
- Overhead cost savings of potentially $150 to $200k per year
- Increased uptime / system stability: going from 20% downtime per day to 0% downtime
- Use of technology including mobile apps and third-party apps due to being on a current technology platform
- Savings of approximately $100k per year in training and support costs thanks to proper training, ease of use and UPK
