The Client
Drees Homes is a leading residential homebuilder in the United States, with operations in the Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions.
Drees was running on an outdated JD Edwards platform. Recognizing the limitations of their current system, they sought to modernize their technology infrastructure to better support business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and prepare for future innovation.
Drees Homes needed to:
- Upgrade to a modern and supported ERP platform
- Transition to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for scalability and reliability
- Leverage new tools like Orchestrations and User Defined Objects for enhanced data flow and communication
The Challenge
Drees Homes was operating on an outdated version of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (9.1), which lacked the modern capabilities needed to support their growth and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the company’s legacy infrastructure posed scalability challenges and hindered integration with external systems.
It was important to the company to transition to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a foundation for future growth. The upgrade to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 was seen as a key step in enhancing communications and data flows using updated toolsets.
