The Client
Radio Flyer is the leading producer of wagons, tricycles and spring horses in the United States, manufacturing more than 100 award winning products available in 25 countries. The vision for this iconic brand was to create a single source of truth and access to real time supply chain information to support scalability and growth by:
- Replacing a 15 year old system with a world-class ERP solution to meet the complex requirements of the CPG industry
- Integrating global operations onto a single platform with unified and streamlined business processes
- Providing full-cycle supply chain visibility into a contract manufacturing based business model
The Challenge
For more than 95 years, countless voyages of childhood fantasy have been launched with Radio Flyer toys. Radio Flyer’s journey to more efficient, streamlined operations was smooth sailing with Terillium’s experts at the helm, navigating through challenges such as:
- Creating global supply chain visibility within the ERP system, eliminating Microsoft Excel planning spreadsheets to take full advantage of Rough Cut Capacity Planning, Master Production Scheduling, Material Resource Planning, and advanced forecasting
- Enabling streamlined order entry with cost reduction and increased efficiency
- Creating an interface linking JD Edwards to radioflyer.com, allowing customized wagon orders to communicate directly with JD Edwards Order Management
Our Solution
The Radio Flyer ERP project was a full-suite global implementation project that was on time, under budget, and went live in Radio Flyer’s busy season without disruption to their customers. This successful implementation resulted in the delivery of a platform to facilitate future business growth, including:
- Provided inventory visibility across the supply chain to enable lower overall inventory investment without sacrificing customer service and lead times
- Provided the tools to enable finance transformation and automation, to allow the business daily financial drill-down and automated reporting, with a reduction in labor
- Transferred knowledge and ownership from IT back to the business
