NetSuite AI Connector Demo: AI Powered Reporting and Automation

Demo: NetSuite AI Connector Tool

AI capabilities have become one of the biggest areas of innovation within NetSuite. From analytics and reporting to process automation, organizations are looking for practical ways to use AI to save time, reduce manual work, and gain faster insights from their ERP data.

One of the most exciting developments is the NetSuite AI Connector, a flexible integration that allows organizations to connect NetSuite with large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI ChatGPT or Anthropic Claude.

We recently explored how you can use the NetSuite AI Connector to do much more than ask questions about their data. The tool opens the door to real automation, intelligent workflows, and streamlined operations across finance and accounting processes.

The demo video walks through AI Connector capabilities in real time, including conversational NetSuite reporting, AI-generated visualizations, vendor automation workflows, AI-powered AP processing, and NetSuite AI Companion prompts.

What Is the NetSuite AI Connector?

The NetSuite AI Connector is a “bring your own AI” framework that allows organizations to securely connect NetSuite with external AI tools and assistants.

Currently, some of the easiest integrations include ChatGPT and Claude, allowing organizations to get connected quickly and begin interacting with NetSuite data using natural language prompts.

Once connected, users can interact with NetSuite data using plain English prompts instead of manually building reports or searching through dashboards.

The connector leverages NetSuite-provided tools and APIs while respecting existing NetSuite permissions and role-based security.

That means users only have access to the data they are already authorized to see inside NetSuite.

Using AI to Query NetSuite Data

One of the first demonstrations showed how easy it is to retrieve meaningful business insights directly from NetSuite.

Instead of creating saved searches or custom reports, the AI assistant was prompted to:

“Show me the top 10 customers by sales this fiscal year, including assigned sales reps and the primary contact.”

The AI connector then:

  • Accessed NetSuite data
  • Identified the appropriate records
  • Pulled customer and sales information
  • Generated executive-level insights

Within seconds, the system produced:

  • Ranked customer sales data
  • Assigned sales representatives
  • Primary customer contacts
  • Revenue concentration insights
  • Key business takeaways

This kind of conversational reporting dramatically reduces the time needed to locate information and generate actionable insights.

Instant Charts and Visualizations

The AI capabilities go beyond simple reporting.

After generating the customer sales analysis, the AI assistant was asked to visualize the data as a chart that could be used in a presentation.

Instead of exporting data into Excel and manually building graphs, the AI created the visualization directly inside the chat workflow.

This creates a seamless process from:

  1. Question
  2. Data retrieval
  3. Analysis
  4. Visualization

For finance leaders and executives, this means faster decision-making and significantly less manual effort preparing reports for meetings and presentations.

Automating Vendor Creation From PDFs

While analytics are powerful, one of the most compelling use cases we demonstrated was operational automation.

The demo shows how you can upload a vendor registration PDF directly into ChatGPT and instruct the AI to create a new vendor inside NetSuite.

Traditionally, this process requires someone to:

  • Review the PDF manually
  • Log into NetSuite
  • Re-enter all vendor details field by field
  • Verify data accuracy

With the AI Connector, the AI can:

  • Read and interpret the PDF
  • Understand contextual information
  • Match fields to NetSuite records
  • Automatically create the vendor record

The result is less manual data entry and faster onboarding of new vendors.

AI-Powered Vendor Bill Processing

Our demo also explored how the NetSuite AI Connector can streamline accounts payable operations.

Vendor invoices were uploaded directly into the AI assistant and used to automatically create vendor bills in NetSuite.

The AI:

  • Read invoice details
  • Parsed line items and totals
  • Identified vendors
  • Created vendor bill records inside NetSuite

Instead of spending time manually entering dozens of invoice lines, AP teams can focus on reviewing and approving transactions.

This shift allows finance teams to spend more time on validation and exception handling rather than repetitive data entry.

Building Intelligent Automation Rules

One of the most important takeaways is that these workflows are highly customizable.

Organizations can create rules and instructions that guide how AI handles exceptions and decision-making.

Examples include:

  • Assigning default items when products are missing
  • Routing transactions for review
  • Applying GL coding logic
  • Flagging questionable entries
  • Managing approval workflows

This allows companies to move beyond simple AI experimentation into scalable, governed automation.

The Growing NetSuite AI Companion Library

One NetSuite is also investing heavily in making AI easier for end users through its expanding AI Companion Library.

The library includes pre-built prompts and workflows designed to help users quickly retrieve information and generate insights without needing advanced prompt engineering skills.

Currently, many of these prompts focus on financial reporting and analysis, but NetSuite continues expanding the library into additional functional areas.

This lowers the barrier to entry for organizations looking to adopt AI inside their ERP environment.

Why Organizations Are Exploring AI Connectors

The biggest advantage of the NetSuite AI Connector is flexibility.

Organizations are not locked into a single AI experience. Instead, they can:

  • Use their preferred AI platform
  • Customize workflows
  • Create tailored automation processes
  • Extend AI into real operational use cases

The result is a more intelligent ERP environment that helps teams:

  • Reduce manual effort
  • Accelerate reporting
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Increase productivity
  • Surface insights faster

How Terillium Helps Organizations Get Started

TWhile the possibilities are exciting, successful AI adoption requires the right strategy, governance, and implementation approach.

That’s where Terillium’s AI Connect offering comes in.

Terillium helps you:
