Marking the sixth year in a row that Oracle has been categorized as a leading ERP provider by Nucleus Research
Nucleus Research, an independent technology research and advisory firm, recently released the latest ERP Technology Value Matrix. Oracle was once again named in the leader quadrant. This marks the sixth year in a row for Oracle as an ERP technology leader on the matrix.
Previous matrices listed specific Oracle ERP software products – this year the matrix is simplified stating the vendor name. Oracle ERP options include Oracle JD Edwards and Oracle ERP Cloud, among others.
NetSuite Cloud ERP, acquired by Oracle in 2016, also appears on the matrix for the sixth year in a row.
Key takeaways from the August 2017 research include:
- While some businesses are still hesitant, industry-specific cloud solutions are driving demand for Cloud ERP
- In general the ERP industry is shifting towards the cloud, although slower than other technologies, and cloud adoption is accelerating
- ERP vendors are “making their cloud offerings more extensible, giving customers the flexibility to which they are accustomed from their on-premise legacy systems”
“As ERP vendors continue their push to the cloud, delivering more tailored industry-specific capabilities has been the drive for many of the R&D dollars spent. They’re focused on delivering functional depth for cloud-based offerings, of which customers are more accustomed to seeing within on-premise environments.”
