Discover what you might have missed from the Oracle customer conference of the year
BLUEPRINT 4D 2025 brought the Oracle community together in Las Vegas for a packed week of sessions, strategy, and connection. For JD Edwards users, it was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from Oracle about where the product is heading and how to use the tools available right now to deliver results.
Couldn’t attend? Here’s a recap of the JD Edwards keynote, roadmap insights, and highlights from our sessions at the event.
Key Takeaways
- AI isn’t optional anymore: Organizations not using AI are already falling behind. JD Edwards is embedding AI into everyday ERP workflows, enabling users to make faster, smarter decisions.
-
From system of record to system of intelligence: JDE’s evolution is taking customers from static back-office systems to self-monitoring, self-healing ERP platforms.
-
Continuous improvement is the winning strategy: Organizations treating JDE like it’s 2025—by regularly applying updates, adopting new functionality, and investing in innovation—are already ahead of the curve.
JD Edwards Keynote
Real Change Takes More Than the Right Tools
One of the big themes in this year’s JD Edwards keynote was change management—reminding us that real transformation takes more than just technology. Later, Chris Laping, author of People Before Things, talked about how execution tends to fall apart without clear ownership and leadership behind it.
“Transformation doesn’t fail because of strategy. It fails because of execution,” Laping said. “And execution requires real buy-in.”
Oracle built on that message, encouraging users to go beyond applying updates and to adopt new capabilities in a way that drives meaningful change.
Smarter, Faster: How AI and Automation Are Already Changing JD Edwards
Oracle highlighted how tools already available in JD Edwards are being used to reduce manual work and improve decision-making:
- AI-generated applications can now be created with natural language prompts, speeding up development significantly.
- Autonomous invoice matching uses Oracle Document Understanding to extract invoice data, match it to POs, and post results automatically.
- Conversational AI assistants provide voice- or text-based access to supplier performance, KPIs, and other data-driven decisions.
- Process performance insights give users a clearer view of where automation is effective, and where improvements can be made.
JD Edwards customers shared real examples of success with these tools, including mobile warehouse apps and automated AP processes.
Real-World Results
Several JD Edwards customers shared stories about how they’re using automation and AI to drive business results:
- Carpet Court reduced invoice processing costs by 50% using JD Edwards + Oracle AI + Orchestrator.
- A UK-based brewery built and deployed a mobile warehouse app in minutes using a low-code, bot-driven application builder.
- A New Zealand construction firm shared their transformation story—from financials to supply chain and mobility, all powered by JD Edwards.
The keynote highlighted how JD Edwards customers are actively transforming their businesses and embracing continuous innovation today, not just in the future.
JD Edwards Roadmap
Continuous Improvement Using the Tools You Already Have
Oracle introduced a practical framework for enterprise automation, built around five core stages:
Ingest → Model → Analyze → Solve → Measure
This cycle supports ongoing process improvement using JD Edwards-native tools such as Orchestrator, UX One, and Watchlists. Release 25 builds on this with new process templates for Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Ship to Dispatch. These templates include real-time watchlists and embedded KPIs to help identify gaps and make improvements quickly.
Better Visibility, Better Decisions
JD Edwards users now have access to visual insights directly within Watchlists. These enhancements make it easier to interpret data through bar charts, gauges, and simple dashboards. AI-generated suggestions are beginning to appear here as well, helping users take the next best action faster.
Supporting Sustainability Goals
JD Edwards is introducing new data capture capabilities to support sustainability initiatives. This includes tracking mobile and stationary fuel consumption and other emissions-related data. The tools are designed to help companies monitor ESG targets and comply with reporting requirements using native functionality, not custom workarounds.
What's New in Release 24 and 25
- Task Tracking has been expanded to support better process management with due dates, statuses, and reminders.
- AIS and UDO performance improvements help scale automation while maintaining system responsiveness.
- System administration updates continue to make staying code current and secure easier.
- New standard features reduce the need for customizations, especially in sales order processing and AP automation.
Oracle’s roadmap continues to emphasize flexibility, automation, and easier adoption, giving customers more control over how they evolve their systems.
