JDE Release 26: Apply, Adopt, & Accelerate Your ERP
JD Edwards Release 26 arrives as the next step in delivering innovation that supports three core imperatives: apply, adopt, and accelerate.
The key enhancements of JDE Release 26 fall under two main categories: Applications Enhancements and Tools Enhancements. Let’s explore more.
NOTE: Oracle will now align the update names with the release numbering. Beginning with Release 26, it will be Applications Update 26 and Tools 9.2.26
JD Edwards Release 26 Application Enhancements
Supply Chain Management
JD Edwards Release 26 introduces several updates that strengthen supply chain efficiency and accuracy:
- The voucher match process now supports tolerance checks based on foreign-amount values, reducing errors caused by exchange-rate fluctuations.
- Users can also reprint invoices for partially shipped sales orders that are on hold, helping minimize accounts receivable delays and eliminating manual workarounds.
- The purchase order approval workflow now includes enhanced delegation capabilities, allowing users with approval authority to delegate their responsibilities to a backup approver within defined rules. This ensures critical approvals continue without interruption during employee absences.
Procurement
In procurement, the PO Approval mobile application built with Oracle Visual Builder has been uplifted into a full progressive web application (PWA). Users can now access it directly from any device through a browser URL. This shift increases flexibility and convenience for managing approvals on the go.
Financials
Financial users gain greater visibility with a new Accounts Receivable report that consolidates invoices and their associated receipts. This enhancement supports audit processes and improves transparency across payments, discounts, charge-backs, and write-offs.
Localizations
For organizations operating in Brazil, Release 26 delivers updates to support the nation’s evolving tax reform. Enhancements include new tributary situation codes, updates to the purchase-return cycle, and generation of the electronic invoice in XML format for CBS/IBS/IS taxes, ensuring compliance with new regulatory requirements.
JDE Release 26 Tools & Technology Enhancements
Digital Transformation and Platform Enhancements
JD Edwards Release 26 continues to advance the digital experience with improvements designed to increase flexibility and automation. Widgets can now accept user input, such as a business unit, allowing teams to create one adaptable widget instead of multiple static ones, simplifying dashboard design.
The new Enterprise Automation Dashboard provides a central view of process models and performance metrics, giving users the ability to drill into definitions, snapshots, and side-by-side comparisons for more effective process analysis. Notifications can now be tied directly to EnterpriseOne page tiles, making it easier to view actionable alerts at a glance.
Additionally, users can now conditionally trigger orchestrations, notifications, or logic extensions directly from form events, even in “power edit” forms, further enhancing automation and responsiveness.
System Administration and Security
JDE Release 26 also brings meaningful improvements for administrators. A new web-based Scheduler interface enables admins to manage scheduled jobs, define job rules, and monitor virtual batch queues, all from a browser, removing the need for the Windows development client.
Web OMW now supports physical table operations, allowing teams to modify indexes and perform ALTER operations while preserving existing data. The JD Edwards Update Manager also expands its capabilities, language packs for UN editions can now be applied directly through the web client Software Updates, simplifying multilingual deployments.
Platform, Database, and Security Certifications
This release enhances system security and infrastructure support across multiple fronts. Outbound messaging now supports OAuth 2.0 token-based authentication, reducing the need to store or transmit sensitive credentials.
Oracle Database users benefit from optimized session management that automatically releases resources after defined thresholds, as well as support for case-insensitive search and collation for more intuitive querying.
For organizations running Microsoft SQL Server, clustering capabilities are now supported, improving reliability and business continuity.
